Processor: 2.5 GHz or higher

Memory: 4 GB RAM

Hard Drive: 100 GB free space

1,000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet)

Connected to same LAN as the PBX

Dedicated PC (can be installed on virtual server)

Operating System (32-bit platforms)

Windows XP Pro SP1 - SP3 32bit (supports maximum of ten VP clients)

Windows 2000 Server  w/SP2

Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise (32bit)

Server Installation Checklist

1.   Recommended hostname: “vistapoint” or  ”vpserver” (something easy to remember and short   Hostname = Must not exceed 13 characters

3.   Server must be assigned a static IP address

4.   Temporary access to the Internet (for license confirmation)

5.   Install a desktop application on the server for Administration

6.   When performing the installation do not use a terminal connection. We suggest this be done directly on the desktop such as VMWare Console or if absolutely necessary as a console connection under RDP mstsc.exe /admin (mstsc.exe /console) – the argument for that connection depends on the OS and or service pack level of your OS. Typically, the part that fails when doing a normal terminal connection is the Database service and or the related ODBC and service dependencies. As a result, our SQL database will be unable to register and the VistaPoint Notes service will fail to start.

7.   You Must be logged on with local administrator rights for installation and configuration

8.   You Must allow inbound TCP 8001/8002 connections to our PCE service (VistaTDS.exe)

9.   If you are using a software firewall create the exemption rule for “VistaTDS.exe” so that client applications can connect to the VistaPoint Server.

HP VCX-Specific Requirements

Software is fully compatible with VCX phones only. Our software will provide status changes for monitored Polycom phone. However, we cannot support call contorl of these devices at this time. Therefore, our client application software must be associated with a HP VCX phone.

Important: Non 3Com “SIP” devices (Polycom etc) can only be monitored for state changes (idle, off-hook etc) However, these devices cannot be controlled using the VistaPoint software and should not be used in association with our client applications.
