Notes on Mitel Integration - MiTAI Limitations
VistaPoint Enterprise is fully integrated with Mitel’s SX-2000, and 33xx ICP platforms using the MiTAI interface. Through this CTI link, we are able to provide third-party call control and telephony presence. However, there are a few limitations / nuances that exist in MiTAI that limit VistaPoint Enterprise capabilities. They are listed here:
- Multiline Devices can only have a total of 7 lines (other line appearances will not be monitored)
- Sending DTMF Digits - The MiTAI interface is unable to support sending DTMF digits from an IP device. This limitation is documented in Mitel’s manual and prevents third-party applications such as VistaPoint from transferring callers to a person’s voice mailbox if that mailbox is a stand-alone application such as NuPoint. If using the on-board voice mail that ships with the 33xx system you will be able to use the “Send to Voicemail” feature.
- CallerID on Analog Trunks - The MiTAI interface will not pass CallerID to third-party applications when the call is received on an analog circuit (loop or ground.) Therefore, you will not see nor be able to make use of certain features when calls are processed on these trunks.
- Calling Party Name – This information is not passed to third-party applications regardless of the trunk types being used.
- Multi Processor and Hyper threading are not yet supported in MiTAI (11.2). This support is planned in the next release of MiTAI Server.
General Notes Relating to SDK APIs Prior to v13 from Mitel

- Hyper threading is not support by MiTAI API
- MiTAI API software is not supported in 64-bit operating systems or in dual core processor environments.
- MiTAI API software does not support Teleworker Applications
- MiTAI API software is not supported with VPN connections. Applications must reside within the enterprise.
- MiTAI API software has not been designed or tested with Windows Vista® operating system.

- MiTAI API software has not been designed or tested with virtual machine software (for example, VMWare, Windows terminal services, or Citrix).
