Server
- Install MiTAI (just click through all the defaults,
you don’t need to ID the PBX when it asks this is just for the tool set)
- Install VP Sever
- Check mark the MitelSIM in addition to the server component
- Reboot
- Enter in the Admin password when prompted
- Enter in the tenant admin password when prompted (do
not use the same password you set for Admin)
- Double click on the MiTAISIM
tray icon (we don’t support terminal services currently)
- Add your PBX(s)
- Click on the connect check box
- Double click on the connected SIM
- Enable message waiting indicator if you are integrating
with the embedded voicemail system
- If you are using the embedded Voice Mail system
enter in the VM Hunt Group number (Prefix is usually “#”)
- MiTAI doesn’t support DTMF so we
will not work with external voicemail systems
- If you are using analog trunks enable the retain
analog & use trunk ID as caller ID
- Click on configure devices
- Click on Auto Detect (enter in the range you want to
scan xxxx – xxxx)
don’t mix ranges like 3 digit through 4 digit

It
is better not to monitor trunks
o
Make
sure you include keylines in your scan
o
There
is a limitation to the amount of lines that can be monitored on Multiline sets
“7 plus Prime”
Client
(usually we will install this on the server as well to make it easier to
administer)
- Run the client setup.exe
- Choose which application you wish to install
(default = desktop)
- You do not need to install the
.NET framework (cancel this if prompted)
- Reboot
- Launch the client application
- Enter in your Extension number
- Enter in name value of the user
- Enter in IP address or host name of the VP server
Administration
- Using your desktop or console companion login as the
Admin (file\admin login)
- Open up the BLF Admin tool
(Settings\administration\Busy Lamp Field)
- Create your groups and populate them with BLF Cells
- Right click in the group column
and select “new group” keep the default “system wide”
- Highlight cells from the BLF
column and drag them into your newly created group container
§ You can use all the common ctrl click,
shift click, ctrl+shift clicks to highlight multiple
cells to populate your groups quicker
- Select “ok” to push out the global groups to all
your clients
