VistaPoint's Technology Overview

VistaPoint Enterprise Suite

iQ NetSolutions' VistaPoint Enterprise architecture provides a unified communications services layer that supports aggregated presence and call control across the enterprise. Enterprises can consist of mixed environments such as legacy TDM PBXs, IP Telephony and SIP platforms and can be deployed into existing enterprises to support convergence from TDM to IP. Cusotmers that have decided to replace their legacy systems with an IP Telephony system can greatly enhance the value of their corporate communication package using iQ's suite of presence-based solutions. iQ’s products provide end-users with valuable applications that increase productivity and customer satisfaction.

System Operators, Executive Assistants, Departmental Secretaries, and Supervisors can monitor the activity of all devices and effectively provide call coverage across the enterprise. Tenanting allows for hosted services to be offered to multiple customers using the same communications platform. Our web-based license server controls the number of client applications being used and allows customer to quickly add client licenses.

VistaPoint Technology

The VistaPoint Presence and Call Control engine is a dynamic software-based state server that captures real-time device state and presence information and then presents this information real-time to client to_topapplications. As depicted in the drawing below, our state engine connects to any combination of System Interface Modules (SIMs) to collect and maintain the current state of a user’s communication device(s). Applications, such as those offered by iQ, provide users with a real-time view and control of these devices.

Our SIMs provide the protocol interpretation between the communications platform and the state engine. SIMs can be rapidly developed using industry standard APIs, derivatives of these APIs as well as proprietary interfaces offered by some manufacturers. Our application layer APIs make it possible for end-user applications to remain ubiquitous to the communication devices or services so that the user’s view of their enterprise is totally transparent.

Through these applications, users can view the real-time status of all other users on the network as well as perform third-party call control across mixed environments. Thus, VistaPoint can be used to overcome the obstacles imposed by mixed vendor equipment and technologies.

iQ’s technology can be categorized into six different components:

  • Desktop Applications – i.e. Attendant Console, DeskBar, Web-based Corporate Directory
  • Plug-ins – Microsoft Outlook, MS CRM, Windows Messenger (OC in development)
  • Presence and Control Engine (PCE) – State Engine and web-based license server
  • Systems Interface Modules (SIMs) – LCS 2003 /2005, Mitel, Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, Mobile, SIP, Alcatel, POTS etc.
  • SDK/APIs and Interfaces – VXML, HTTP XML, CSTA II ASN, CSTA Phase III XML, SIP/SIMPLE
  • Agents / Applets – MIDLets residing on mobile devices to_top

This highly flexible model also facilitates the integration of other applications such as databases, directory services, CRM applications, unified voice messaging, web collaboration, status monitoring, and management reporting. VPICS uses a standards-based API for rapid integration with "best of breed" third-party applications, and software development tools are available for custom CTI application development.

In summary, iQ NetSolutions is on the forefront of delivering highly scalable, flexible, and reliable enterprise telephony and communication services by providing an advanced architectural foundation upon which these integrated services can be built.
